Maestro Gustavo Dudamel, conductor of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, will lead the musicians on a tour of Paris, London, Luxembourg, Berlin, Munich, Brussels and Madrid to kick off the celebration of El Sistema's 50th anniversary.
For this tour they have prepared a stunning repertoire with works by Mahler, Tchaikovsky, Abreu, Lorenz, Grau and Ravel. The OSSBV will be accompanied by special guests such as the French mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa, the Chinese pianist Yuja Wang and the Venezuelan cuatro player Jorge Glem.
Maestro Eduardo Méndez, Executive Director of El Sistema, claims that this tour marks a new milestone:
On this tour, which will kick off the anniversary celebration, the high artistic level of the orchestra will be revealed, as well as the opportunity to continue expanding El Sistema's methodology.

- 11 and 12 January: Philharmonie de Paris
The Simon Bolívar Orchestra participated in the inauguration of the Philharmonie in 2015 and will now showcase the first educational activities with the Démos Philharmonie programme to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this venue.
The debut concert is being streamed on the Paris Philharmonie Live channel and will remain online for 6 months
