The Sistema delle Orchestre e dei Cori Giovanili e Infantili in Italia (System of Youth and Children's Orchestras and Choirs in Italy) was founded in Rome in 2010 by Roberto Grossi and currently led by Claudio Formisano, this National Non-Profit Association officially represents the renowned Venezuelan “El Sistema” in Italy.
Our mission? To transform young lives through the power of ensemble music.

Present in 13 Italian regions, the Association consists of 25 Nuclei (units) which implement educational projects that, through music, offer new opportunities to children and young people facing family, social, economic, and cultural challenges. Our inclusive approach allows young people to participate from the very beginning, without any barriers regarding their technical skills or musical talent.

The “Giuseppe Sinopoli National Youth Orchestra” (15-25 years) and the “Junior Orchestra” (11-18 years) are just two of the many examples that demonstrate the success and positive impact of our work over the years. These ensembles are tangible proof of how music can be a powerful tool for personal growth and transformation.

A name that resonates strongly in our history is José Antonio Abreu, the Venezuelan conductor and Minister of Culture, founder of the “El Sistema” project. Abreu, our Honorary Member and inspiration, showed how music can be fundamental for social inclusion and cultural formation, values that we are committed to promoting day after day.
